Quora got hacked? Fake accounts?
Quora says they were hacked (breach by malicious third party) and 100M Quora users got their information leaked.
First of all, If they have a breach this big, chances are everyone is affected. Maybe it is there way to make you think that you have a decent chance of being in the 2/3 unaffected. But we all know that’s most likely a strategy to keep users from bouncing off the site.
Secondly, one thing I noticed a while back before reading the blog post (https://blog.quora.com/Quora-Security-Update) was that every week, I would get notified by Quora that a new friend of mine from Facebook has joined Quora, inciting me to check it out. Not only did those people admit to me that they have never used Quora ever, but they were not aware that Quora even existed, for every single person suggested to me. This happened over and over during years 2017-2018. I was honestly just waiting for something like this to happen for them to try and cover up their “fake it till you make it” strategy to get even bigger. It was so bad that sometimes they even suggested that my friend had just recently joined Quora for the first time, twice. This was no glitch in their systems, clearly too obvious & logical to know this. This now brings questions about Quora's credibility. This had to be built-in, there is no other way this could have happened.
Now the real questions remain unsolved, which big corporations had access to the information leaked before Quora opened to the public about the so called breach of only 1/3. Clearly the data is a gold mine, but since they aren’t allowed to do so, the perfect getaway would be a worldwide breach, now they can’t be responsible for anyone having their hands on this information? Im guessing this is simply a logical way to defend themselves. Just my own logical opinion related to big corporations worth billions, because way too often these big corporations try to cover up their trails.
